His graduate study also included courses in graphic design and hand-rendering, and he was awarded a teacher's assistantship under Gail Borden, AIA, in the course of Building Materials and Methods. Upon graduating Robert was a finalist fo the Kamphoefner Award for Design Excellence.
Robert also earned a Bachelor of Science in Construction Technology, Drafting and Design and a minor in Philosophy and Religion from Appalachian State University in 2002. He previously worked for Don Woodruff Architects in Boone, North Carolina, as well as Lineberry Architectural Group in Raleigh, North Carolina, before joining Christopher Rose Architects, P.A. in January of 2007. Robert's other interests include designing and building tree houses, snow skiing, playing acoustic music and saltwater spear fishing.
