Mies who started in the Bauhaus in Germany then practiced in Chicago for many years would have turned 132 today.  His work is still relevant today.  The influence Villa Tugendhat in Brno, in modern Czech Republic can be seen in many contemporary homes today.  I had the privilege to visit the Villa Tugendhat and the Farnsworth House.  Inside the Tugendhat is a caramel color book matched marble wall divider that in the late afternoon when the setting sun hits turns bright red.  Incredible piece of stone.  Below are photos I took at the Farnsworth House near Little Rock, Illinois.
