Candace is the enlightened developer of Indigo Park. Where the first LEED Platinum homes were designed by our office. This is the highest “GREEN” rating for energy efficiency and sustainability. One of the units was chosen for the 2013 HGTV Dream Home
You can always tell its the holidays in Charleston when Elsie the Coburg cow starts wearing her Pilgrim hat and the milk bottle changes to Egg Nog!
Eero Saarinen was born in Finland but practiced in the United States. He worked on some of the most iconic mid-century structures such as the St. Louis Arch, Dulles Airport Terminal and pictured here the TWA terminal. All of his designs used sweeping curved forms to create wonderful spaces. These curves softened the hard edges of modernism while giving a timeless quality to his architecture.

Here is the Queens House that Inigo Jones designed in Greenwich. This masterpiece was begun in 1616. It is know for its Tulip Staircase (see below) the first example of an cantilevered staircase design. The House is now the home of the National Maritime Musuem.
Today is the Spanish architect Santiago Calvatrava’s 63rd birthday. He allows the structure of the building to be expressed an beautifully integrated manner. Here is one of his many bridges, this one is the Puente-de-la-Mujer in Buenos Aries which I had the privilege to see in person earlier this year.
This is a photo of the Legasey Residence at 343 Surfsong Road on Kiawah I designed several years ago. The Legaseys are showing their patriotism by displaying the flag.
We designed a home in The Cliffs at Walnut Cove near Asheville for Julia and her wife Sharon. Julia is an incredibly talented artist and we gave her an encaustic studio over the garage. Encaustic is a technique with melted wax where she builds up layer upon layer and adds color. She has a studio in the River Arts District in Asheville, NC.
